Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Eight arquebusiers represent a shot division of the French Wars of Religion in Pike & Shotte. The arquebus was lighter than the later musket and shorter-ranged, but cheap and quick to learn. Such shot usually fought in small groups behind hedges, ditches and walls, and that is how you deploy them: in front of or beside your pike blocks to weaken the enemy before contact. With the pikemen from the same range you build a regiment.
