    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Landsknecht pike blocks emerged in response to the dominant Swiss mercenary formations. In the Italian Wars, pike formations were increasingly combined with firearms. The box depicts this transition because, in addition to pikes, arquebusiers and command elements are also possible.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    In the game, the box forms the defensive and offensive core of a Landsknecht army. The pikes keep cavalry and melee attacks at bay, while the arquebusier option allows for fire support. Command figures also make the contents suitable for complete regiments and unit cores.
