Product details

Background & context

Allied tank crews reported every knocked-out vehicle as the work of an 88, even when the pattern of hits suggested something quite different. Its reputation was so great that it influenced engagements before a shot was fired. In reality a gun of this size needed more than half a dozen men, a half-track tractor to move it and a good while before it was ready to fire from its cruciform carriage. Anyone who chose the position badly had an immobile target standing in the middle of the terrain.

On the tabletop

On its rotating platform the 8.8 cm Flak 37 covers every direction in Bolt Action, either as a super-heavy anti-tank gun or as a medium howitzer. You use it to engage heavy tanks at long range, and infantry behind cover with fire in an arc. The large gun is hard to redeploy, so pick its position with care and tow it there with an Sd.Kfz 7 half-track. Seven Waffen-SS figures crew the plastic gun, which traverses and has a barrel that can be raised.
