Background & context

From 1943 the German infantry switched its anti-tank defence to shaped charges. American bazookas captured in North Africa gave rise to the 8.8cm Raketenpanzerbüchse, in soldiers' slang the Panzerschreck: a weapon that tied up two men and threw such a fierce jet of flame backwards that a protective shield was later retrofitted. In parallel the formations built up their own snipers and flamethrower teams for bunkers and house-to-house fighting. The Waffen-SS itself remains part of the National Socialist apparatus of violence and is to be judged accordingly.

On the tabletop

The six figures make three specialist teams for Waffen-SS lists covering 1943 to 1945. The Panzerschreck team fires shaped-charge rockets and is your infantry weapon against tanks. The sniper engages single important figures from long range, while the flamethrower attacks buildings and fortifications at close quarters. Three order dice are included so each team gets its own die in the bag during the game.
