Product details

Background & context

On 15 August 1944 American and French troops landed on the coast of Provence in Operation Dragoon. The villages inland consisted of low stone houses with tiled roofs and shutters. As the German forces withdrew rapidly to the north, the Allies advanced up the Rhône valley within a few weeks. Even so, many villages saw short, hard fights over individual houses and streets.

On the tabletop

The small house fits on the edge of a village or between larger buildings, where it closes gaps in a village street. Take off the roof and put a squad inside to fire from the windows onto the street. As the house has only one storey, the view over its roof to taller buildings stays open. You combine it with Maison Amelie and the village shop to form a French hamlet.
