Hintergrund & Einordnung

Viking warbands were mobile groups of warriors who carried out raids, settlement conflicts, and power struggles in the Norse world. Armored elite warriors and unarmored Bondi could fight together in the shield wall, while archers or slingers supported the formation. Command elements such as warlords and standard bearers gave the group a clear center. The set is particularly well-suited for narrative scenarios involving raids and the defense of settlements.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Viking Warband is a compact and versatile Viking force with a leader, elite troops, core troops, and ranged options. In SAGA and Pillage, it can directly serve as a varied warband with multiple roles. In Hail Caesar, it is suitable as a small contingent or as an expansion for a larger Viking army. For Lion Rampant, it provides heavy and medium foot troops as well as support options.
