    Product details

    Background & context

Ulfhednar are described in Nordic tradition as particularly fierce warriors, associated with wolf pelts and ecstatic fighting prowess. In historical tabletop depictions, they represent the martial fringe of Viking Age warrior culture. Such figures are suitable for emphasizing the Vikings' reputation as feared close-combat fighters on the gaming table. As a small metal group, they complement larger Bondi or Hirdmen formations with a distinctive elite unit.

    On the tabletop

Eight Ulfhednar in four poses represent the Viking wolf warriors in Hail Caesar, SAGA or Pillage. In their battle frenzy they attack with no regard for themselves or their allies, so the unit is hard to hold back. Lead them deliberately to the point where they get into close combat at once, ideally right into the enemy line. The sagas describe them in wolf pelts, biting their shields.
