    Background & context

    Der Valentine war der meistgebaute britische Panzer des Krieges, und der Mk III die häufigste Ausführung von allen. Sein überarbeiteter Turm bot dem Ladeschützen endlich Platz, sodass der Kommandant nicht länger nebenbei laden musste - erkauft war das mit fünfzig statt sechzig Millimetern Seitenpanzerung. Ab 1941 stand der Mk III im Einsatz, ab 1942 folgte der äußerlich identische Mk V mit GMC-Dieselmotor. Viele Valentine gingen per Leih- und Pachtgesetz an die Rote Armee, wo die Besatzungen die schlichte, zuverlässige Konstruktion schätzten.

    On the tabletop

    The Valentine Mk III was the most produced version of the infantry tank: its new turret had room for a loader, freeing the commander to command again, at the cost of side armour reduced from 60 to 50 mm. The externally identical Mk V with a GMC diesel followed in 1942, and both also went to the Soviet Union. In Bolt Action you lead your infantry with it from 1941, its 2-pounder being enough against lighter tanks. Damage markers are included.
