Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Valentine was a durable and reliable infantry tank of the British and Commonwealth forces. It was introduced in the Western Desert in 1940, where it served to support infantry advances. Despite its cramped interior and low speed, the tank was considered very reliable and well-armored for its time. The Soviet Union used Valentine tanks on the Eastern Front until the end of the war and particularly valued their reliability and comfort. New Zealand units also used the Valentine in the Far East.
