Product details

Background & context

The Rangers were formed in 1942 on the model of the British Commandos, trained in Scotland and first deployed in North Africa and Sicily. They became famous on 6 June 1944 at Pointe du Hoc, where the 2nd Ranger Battalion climbed a thirty-metre cliff under fire to knock out a German battery. After that they went on through Brest, Aachen and the Hürtgen Forest, always to wherever an attack promised to be particularly unpleasant.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the Rangers are elite American infantry, fielded for landings such as Pointe du Hoc and for the fighting all the way into Germany. The 30 figures make Ranger squads, an officer, and sniper and bazooka teams. Bangalore torpedoes, satchel charges and knives suit squads that attack obstacles and fortified positions. Heads inspired by Saving Private Ryan make individual figures in your unit easy to tell apart.
