Background & context

The M10 was the mass-produced solution to the tank destroyer concept: M4 Sherman chassis, thin but sloped armour, an open-topped turret and a 3-inch gun. It was built in large numbers and ended up with almost every Western Ally; US, British, Polish, Free French and Soviet units all operated it. The British called it Wolverine and re-armed many vehicles with the 17-pounder, which produced the Achilles. The hand-cranked turret remained a nuisance to the end.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the three M10s form a platoon of tank destroyers, American or as British Wolverines, since crews and decals for both armies are included. Add French markings and they also suit the Free French, who wore US uniforms. In the game you place the platoon in cover and intercept enemy tanks with the 3-inch guns, and the slow turret traverse calls for careful positioning. Polish and Soviet units used the M10 as well.
