Product details

Background & context

The Mk 2 with its ribbed cast body was simply called the Pineapple by the GIs. It was part of every rifleman's basic kit and was the weapon of choice for clearing bunkers, cellars and hedgerow positions. In Normandy the squads used it to work their way through the bocage field by field. On the Pacific islands it often stood in for the flamethrower when none was within reach.

On the tabletop

These three pewter figures are winding up to throw a hand grenade, capturing the moment your section storms a bunker, a cellar or a hedgerow position. Put them at the head of a rifle section going into close combat. Since the Mk 2 was standard issue for every rifleman, they fit GIs in Normandy just as well as actions on Pacific islands. The assault pack and folding shovel give you plenty of detail to paint.
