    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The American Bazooka was first used in North Africa and on Tarawa in 1942 and became the primary shoulder-fired anti-tank weapon for US infantry by the end of the war. US Army snipers had the clear mission of eliminating enemy officers and weakening enemy morale - both team members received sniper training, allowing the shooter and spotter to swap roles at any time. Flamethrowers were particularly used in the Pacific against bunkers and tunnel systems but were also employed during the Normandy landings and the winter battles in Western Europe to break fortified positions.
