Hintergrund & Einordnung

From 1942 onwards, US infantry units fought on all major theaters of war - from North Africa, Italy, and Western Europe to the Pacific. Often lacking true combat experience at the beginning of the war, officers and enlisted men learned quickly. Specialized support teams, such as the Browning M1919A4 machine gun with its range of over 1,000 meters and the devastating 81mm mortar, formed the backbone of fire support at the squad level.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Support Group Set bundles the most important support units for US lists: HQ group with officers, medics and radio operator, Medium Mortar Team and Medium Machine Gun Team. In Bolt Action, a Support Group is the core for the command structure and fire support of any US platoon - the medic allows the stabilisation of critical hits, the MG provides sustained suppression, the mortar indirect fire. A must-have box for any serious US army.
