Background & context

A US rifle platoon was usually led by a Second Lieutenant, supported by around forty men and an experienced Platoon Sergeant. Training often lasted only a few months, which is why newly arrived platoon leaders had a reputation among the veterans for not staying long. Those who proved themselves were the link between company orders and what was actually achievable in the foxhole. Reconnaissance, artillery and heavy weapons platoons each placed their own particular demands on their leaders.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action every platoon needs an officer to give it orders, and this pack provides four of them for a US Army list. Each figure is designed for one platoon type: rifle, recce infantry, artillery or heavy weapons. You can field the officers on their own or give them attendants from other boxes. This keeps several platoons clearly apart in a larger game.
