    Background & context

    On the tabletop

The US Army's 4.2-inch mortar was originally meant to fire smoke and gas, but with high-explosive rounds it became a favourite source of fire support for the infantry. In Bolt Action this team is a heavy mortar with a crew of four, and you can add a spotter to it. It fires indirectly over terrain and buildings at positions your riflemen cannot reach. It suits games from Sicily to the Rhine.
