Product details

Background & context

American tank crews wore a padded fibre helmet with ear flaps for the headphones, often with goggles. Outside the vehicle some put the steel helmet straight on top of it. The short, lined tanker jacket with knitted cuffs at collar, sleeves and waist became well known and was sought after by other troops too. Commanders usually rode with the hatch open to see better and were often wounded as a result.

On the tabletop

Place the two half figures in the hatches of an American tank or armoured car, and the commander looks out across the ground from his turret. Put the standing man beside a parked vehicle, for example at a briefing on the edge of a village. In Bolt Action a commander in the hatch also marks the lead vehicle of your tank platoon. The optional hand poses make each figure look a little different.
