    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Landing Vehicle Tracked was introduced by the US Navy, Marine Corps and Army as a small amphibious landing craft. The LVT-4 variant was the most numerous version, with over 8,000 vehicles built, and featured a large rear ramp for troops, supplies or light vehicles. LVTs were used not only in the Pacific for island assaults, but also in Allied operations in Europe, such as on the Scheldt and during the Rhine crossing. The original supply vehicle quickly became an important assault and fire support vehicle.

    The LVT-4 Buffalo Amtrac is an amphibious transport vehicle for landing and river-crossing scenarios. In-game, it transports infantry across difficult terrain or water obstacles to key positions. It is suitable for both Pacific scenarios and late Allied operations in Europe.
