Product details

Background & context

The Jeep arose from a US requirement in June 1940 for a light vehicle for almost any terrain. The Willys MB and Ford GPW were built in very large numbers and became known collectively as the Jeep. Warlord assigns this variant to US Airborne troops from 1944-45. In the late war, such light vehicles were well suited for airborne and reconnaissance tasks where mobility was more important than armour.

On the tabletop

The jeep of the American airborne forces arrived in the landing zone by glider and in Bolt Action serves as liaison vehicle, tractor and ambulance all in one. It tows a light gun, brings ammunition to the rally points or carries wounded men back, jobs for which your paratroopers would otherwise have no vehicle. It suits games set in Normandy and during Market Garden. Metal crew figures are included.
