Background & context

As a rule paratroopers landed without tanks and mostly without anti-tank guns too: whatever came along had to be something one man could carry. The bazooka was therefore no niche weapon but the only means a dropped company had of answering an assault gun attack at all. In Nijmegen and Bastogne the tubes were fired from houses and ditches at the shortest of ranges, because their penetration was usually enough only from the side. The 60mm mortar took on the targets that no flat-trajectory fire could reach.

On the tabletop

Two two-man teams give your US paratroopers in Bolt Action anti-tank capability and light fire support for 1944/45. For airborne troops the bazooka was often the only answer to attacking tanks and assault guns, and at Nijmegen and Bastogne it was fired from houses and foxholes. The light 60 mm mortar fires a comparatively large shell and hits enemies behind hedges and walls. Bases for all four figures are included.
