Designed to combat enhanced infantry, these 8-foot tall human/bear hybrids give the Red Army a terrifying presence on the battlefield. As if teeth and claws weren't enough, these Ursus carry massive clubs which they use to smash a man into bloody pulp. Devastating on the charge, but difficult to control - Ursus Infantry tip brutal melee engagements in favor of the Soviet Union.

Hintergrund & Einordnung

In the '47 conflict universe, Soviet scientists developed a weapon utilizing ursine DNA to create an 8-foot tall man/bear hybrid capable of matching any Enhanced Infantry on the 1947 battlefields. Standard Ursus fight with tooth and claw - the clubbed variant equips some units with massive Rift-Tech alloy bludgeons, capable of smashing through opponents in full power armor in close combat. Powerful but difficult to control, Ursus are often unleashed in hotly contested areas where they are meant to tip the balance of power. On the tabletop, they are almost invincible in close combat - tough and strong enough to mow down any enemy force in their path. Since they invariably draw enemy fire, they are ideally transported in a truck (5 Ursus fit in a standard truck) or protected by waves of regular infantry until they reach the enemy.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Soviet Ursus Infantry with Clubs is the club-wielding variant of the bear-like shock troopers: 3 models with primitive club weaponry. In the game, they act as the standard close-combat variant - faster than the Hammer variant, less anti-vehicle strength, but efficient against anti-personnel targets. Special Rules: Tough, Bear-Form, Brutal Charge. Ideal as an inexpensive reinforcement in an Ursus-focused Soviet list or as an escort for Drugov.
