    Product details

    Background & context

The Type 97 Chi-Ha was the standard tank of the Japanese army and hopelessly inferior to American designs, too thinly armoured and too weakly armed. The Kai variant received a new turret with a 47 mm gun, which improved the situation but did not solve it. In the Konflikt '47 timeline Japanese designers therefore reach for what comes out of the Rifts: the Shiboru cannon moves onto the familiar chassis, and an obsolete tank once again becomes something enemy crews respect.

    On the tabletop

In Japanese lists for Konflikt '47 the Type 97-Kai Shiboru Chi-Ha brings Rift technology to the proven Chi-Ha chassis, carrying the Shiboru cannon instead of a conventional gun. The Chi-Ha was outclassed by Allied tanks such as the Matilda, Lee and Sherman, and the new weapon is meant to let it hold its own again. So you use it against enemy vehicles. The light tank model is made of resin and plastic.
