Product details

Background & context

Japanese lorries were designed for the narrow, often unmetalled roads of Asia: narrow in track, high off the ground and, in return, heavier than comparable British types. The Type 97 was derived from the civilian Isuzu TX40 and shared assemblies with the older Type 94. Until the end of the war it remained one of the Imperial Army's most important lorries and turned up in practically every theatre of the Pacific. Supplies were the harder currency there than firepower in any case.

On the tabletop

The Type 97 is the standard light lorry of your Japanese army in Bolt Action. It brings infantry or supplies forward or tows light guns, but as an unarmoured vehicle it should be kept out of the line of fire. Narrow and high off the ground, it was built for the tight, often unsurfaced roads of Asia, and it served in almost every Pacific theatre until the end of the war. Decals and damage markers are included.
