    Product details

    Background & context

The Teutonic Order began as a hospital community in the Holy Land and in the 13th century became a military power on the Baltic. From castles such as the Marienburg it built up a state of its own in Prussia and the Baltic lands and defended it in campaigns lasting decades against Old Prussians, Lithuanians and Novgorod. White mantle with a black cross, heavy armour, monastic discipline: one of the most striking sights of the High Middle Ages.

    On the tabletop

On their armoured horses the twelve brother knights form the heavy cavalry of your Teutonic Order army in 28 mm scale. In close formation they ride at the enemy centre and seek a decision with their charge. A standard bearer and musician from the command frame lead the unit. For the 13th-century campaigns in Prussia and the Baltic you add foot troops and light cavalry.
