    Product details

    Background & context

By 1940 the Tetrarch was already outdated as a light tank, but it found a niche that happened to suit it exactly: it was light enough for the Hamilcar glider. On the night of 6 June 1944, several vehicles of the 6th Airborne Division rolled into Normandy this way, driving out of the front of the glider while it was still coming to a halt. Before that, the type had already fought on Madagascar, and further vehicles went to the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease.

    On the tabletop

The Tetrarch was light enough for the Hamilcar glider and gave the British airborne troops in Normandy firepower and mobility. Three barrels are included: the 2-pounder, the 2-pounder with the Littlejohn adaptor for more penetration, or the 3-inch howitzer of the ICS version. In Bolt Action you add it to your British airborne list, where it works against infantry and light vehicles. Earlier it fought on Madagascar in 1942, and some were also sent to the Soviet Union.
