Product details

Background & context

Late in the war the US Army tested firing the M8 rocket, normally carried by fighter-bombers, from the ground on a larger scale. The most common result was the eight-tube T27, codenamed Xylophone. Its rockets were inaccurate but did heavy damage to soft vehicles and troops without cover. In service the launcher frame was usually mounted on the bed of a 2.5 ton truck.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the T27 is a multiple rocket launcher for your American artillery platoon in the closing years of the war. Its salvo scatters widely and needs some luck, yet it can badly hurt soft-skinned vehicles and infantry in the open. Because it takes up comparatively few points in your list, the gamble is often worth it. It suits games in North West Europe in 1944 and 1945.
