    Background & context

    Der M3 White Scout Car war amerikanisches Serienprodukt und ging über das Leih- und Pachtgesetz in großer Zahl an die Sowjetunion. Die Rote Armee schätzte ihn weniger als Späher denn als Zugmaschine, Stabswagen und Transporter für aufgesessene Schützen. Bis Kriegsende trugen sowjetische Verbände ihn durch Osteuropa, mancher Wagen kam bis nach Wien und Berlin. Auf derselben Grundkonstruktion entstand später das Halbkettenfahrzeug M3.

    On the tabletop

    In Bolt Action the White Scout Car is an armoured transport that your Soviet army received through Lend-Lease. It carries a whole squad quickly along a road to an objective and drops it off there, and its heavy machine gun also fends off enemy scouts. The Red Army used it less as a scout and more as a tractor, staff car and personnel carrier, and some made it all the way to Vienna and Berlin. Achtung Panzer! covers it as well.
