Product details

Background & context

The padded telogreika, the fur cap with ear flaps and the valenki felt boots made the Soviet soldier fit for winter while the Wehrmacht was still standing before Moscow in summer greatcoats in 1941. On top of that came white oversuits for patrols and ski units. The kit was plain, robust and above all available in large numbers, an advantage that at minus thirty degrees counted for more than many a weapon.

On the tabletop

Five Soviet infantrymen in winter kit form the starting point of a platoon for the winter battles on the Eastern Front. Two riflemen fire standing and kneeling, two men carry submachine guns and the fifth throws a grenade. Set 2 adds further poses to the squad. Because the resin parts come unpainted, you decide yourself whether your men fight in padded jackets or in white camouflage overalls.
