Product details

Background & context

Between the great offensives, everyday life on the Eastern Front consisted of securing and scouting. Small groups felt their way across the ground in front of the lines, looked for mines, trenches and listening posts and, if possible, brought back a prisoner, the coveted yazyk. They were equipped with whatever was to hand: the Mosin-Nagant, the semi-automatic SVT-40 or the PPSh with drum magazine. You can see that mix in the three poses.

On the tabletop

These three pewter figures show Red Army men on the move, weapons across their chests and eyes to the front. They represent the small groups that searched no man's land between the big offensives, located mines and listening posts and tried to bring back a prisoner. They fit scenarios with patrols or columns on the march just as well as reinforcements for a squad that has taken losses. Calm poses like these are missing from many sets.
