    Product details

    Background & context

The BT-7 was one of the fast Soviet cavalry tanks and was built in large numbers. It was first used in early battles against Japan and later against the German invasion. With up to 44 mph on roads and more than 30 mph cross-country, the BT-7 relied on speed rather than heavy armor. Its three-man crew operated a 45 mm main gun and a coaxial machine gun, but more than 2,000 vehicles were lost in the first year on the Eastern Front.

    On the tabletop

The BT-7 was the Red Army's fast cavalry tank, capable of over 70 km/h on roads, with a 45 mm gun, a coaxial machine gun and only 20 mm of armour. In Bolt Action you use it for fast thrusts round a flank and protect it with speed rather than steel. It suits games against Japan at Khalkhin Gol and the early years on the Eastern Front, and it stayed in service for almost the whole war. Stat card and damage markers are included.
