Hintergrund & Einordnung

Soviet snipers earned a legendary reputation during the sieges of Stalingrad and Leningrad - the Red Army operated its own sniper schools and actively promoted a doctrine of "sniperism." The light 50mm Model 1940 infantry mortar was the standard suppression weapon at the company level, easy to transport and effective over 700 meters. Flamethrowers played an unusually central role in Soviet doctrine - not only against infantry in bunkers but also in tank combat, leading to the establishment of special motorized flamethrower battalions starting in 1943.

Einsatz im Spiel

The set provides the three most important support weapon teams for any Soviet Bolt Action force: snipers for officer-sniping and order disruption, a light mortar for indirect fire at medium ranges, and a flamethrower for assaulting positions or dislodging squads in cover. In Chain of Command, they can be used as platoon support or tactical special teams.
