Product details

Background & context

The Maxim PM 1910 was already the standard weapon of the Tsarist army in the First World War and remained so for the Red Army too. The water-cooled barrel stood up to sustained fire, the gun shield protected the crew, and the small wheeled mount was what made the heavy weapon mobile in the first place. That very weight was also its biggest drawback: changes of position took a long time, and the Germans were hardly keen to use captured examples.

On the tabletop

The Maxim PM 1910 was the Red Army's medium machine gun and comes here with three resin crew figures. In Bolt Action the team belongs in the heavy weapons platoon and delivers anti-infantry fire that can hit enemy squads hard. You use it to cover your riflemen as they advance. The gun shield and wheeled carriage match the original, which the Tsar's army had already used in the First World War.
