Product details

Background & context

In the Red Army the 82mm battalion mortar was not an infantry accessory; it counted as artillery and was handled in batteries. The widespread 1937 and 1941 models barely differed from one another, were simple in construction and therefore almost indestructible. The calibre was deliberately chosen so that captured German 81mm ammunition could be fired as well. A range of just under three kilometres made the mortar the strongest fire support a battalion could provide for itself.

On the tabletop

In Bolt Action the medium mortar belongs in the heavy weapons platoon of your Soviet army. The 82 mm tube fires in an arc over the heads of your own troops, and cover does not protect the enemy when it hits. Directed by spotters, the team can control large parts of the battlefield. The three crew figures are made of Warlord Resin, the mortar is metal, and a plastic base is included.
