Product details

Background & context

Many Japanese villages had a leading family whose head collected the dues and negotiated with the landlord. Their house was usually larger than those of the neighbours and also served as a meeting place. In the Sengoku period some of these families descended from local warriors who also farmed the land. With the sword hunt edict of 1588, Toyotomi Hideyoshi separated farmers and warriors more sharply.

On the tabletop

At 200 mm wide, minka B is the longest of the three small houses and works well as the village headman's home. Place it at the end of a road and it becomes the objective your opponent heads for. The long wall gives cover to a whole line of shooters. Set it between minka A and C so the row of houses does not look uniform.
