Product details

Background & context

The German Heer was far less motorised than the newsreels made people believe - the bulk of the infantry marched and had its baggage pulled by horses. Those travelling on wheels were mainly staffs, reconnaissance troops and dispatch riders, and for them Horch, Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen were available. Anyone putting these vehicles on the gaming table is therefore usually not showing a rifle platoon, but the people who drove ahead of it.

On the tabletop

Six seated army soldiers, cast as two single figures and two pairs, crew your German vehicles of 1943 to 1945 in Bolt Action. They fit the Horch, Kübelwagen and Schwimmwagen, though the vehicles themselves are not included. Such cars were used mainly by staff, scouts and messengers, so the figures suit command vehicles, reconnaissance or scenarios with dispatch riders. With a crew aboard you can see at a glance which car is on the move.
