    Background & context

    Sturmpioniere waren die Spezialisten für alles, was im Weg lag: Minenfelder, Drahthindernisse, gesprengte Übergänge, Bunkerscharten. Auf dem Hanomag-Fahrgestell bekamen sie ein Fahrzeug, das ihr sperriges Gerät mitnahm, statt es hinterherschleppen zu lassen. Die frühe Ausführung trug noch eine 3,7cm PaK 36; gegen T-34 und Sherman half die nicht mehr, also kam die Panzerbüchse 41 an ihren Platz.

    On the tabletop

    In this Ausf. C version the Pionierwagen carries a Panzerbüchse 41 instead of the front MG, giving it a way to fight enemy vehicles. In Bolt Action it takes your assault engineers and their bulky equipment forward to minefields, wire obstacles or bunkers. The two detachable assault bridges and the inflatable boats in the side lockers make it the vehicle for fighting around ditches and rivers. It served on every front, from Russia to Berlin.
