Product details

Background & context

The 3.7 cm PaK 36 was still the Heer's standard anti-tank weapon in 1939. Against the T-34 and KV-1 it then had so little effect that the troops called it the Heeresanklopfgerät (army door knocker). That did not make it disappear: on the platoon commander's Hanomag it still made sense, because Panzergrenadiers mainly had to hold their own against armoured cars, half-tracks and light tanks. With the slip-on Stielgranate 41 it could later achieve something against thicker armour again, though only at a few dozen metres.

On the tabletop

With the 3.7 cm anti-tank gun on its nose, this Hanomag becomes the platoon leader's vehicle for your Panzergrenadiers in Bolt Action. The gun is too weak for heavy tanks but a useful weapon against armoured cars, half-tracks and light tanks. That gives your platoon an answer when enemy scouts turn up. Two metal crew figures man the gun, and a full-colour decal sheet is included. You can also play Achtung Panzer! with it.
