Product details

Background & context

The Sd.Kfz 250 was a shortened version of the Sd.Kfz 251 armoured personnel carrier and held six men including driver and co-driver. Like its larger relative it spawned many variants, such as cable layers, ammunition carriers and radio vehicles. The early Alte version with its angular hull served throughout the war in every theatre where German forces fought, and Romanian units used it as well.

On the tabletop

Each of the three boxes becomes one of three versions during assembly. As a 250/1 the half-track carries a small squad or your headquarters forward, with one shielded MG 34 firing ahead and a second covering the rear and the sky. The enclosed 250/9 with its turret-mounted 2cm cannon takes over reconnaissance. On the 250/11 a 2.8cm Panzerbüchse 41 replaces the front MG, giving the platoon commander a weapon against vehicles. Build one of each and you field a transport, a scout car and a command vehicle for the Wehrmacht, the Afrika Korps or Romanian troops.
