Background & context

Der Sd.Kfz 234/3 trug ursprünglich eine kurze 7,5-cm-Kanone für die Feuerunterstützung. Als die Panzerabwehr alles andere verdrängte, wich sie der langen PaK 40, die man ohne Umschweife hinter einem Schild auf die offene Wanne montierte. Gebaut wurde der Umbau erst im Winter 1944 und nur in kleiner Stückzahl. Er blieb bei den Aufklärungsabteilungen, für die er eigentlich viel zu schwer bewaffnet war - und war dort die härteste Waffe weit und breit, solange er zuerst schoss.

On the tabletop

This eight-wheeled armoured car carries a 7.5 cm PaK 40 mounted openly behind a shield. In Bolt Action it counts as an armoured car armed with a heavy anti-tank gun and can join any armoured platoon. The gun can deal with well-armoured targets, while the car itself is only lightly protected. Fire from cover and use its wheels to change position quickly afterwards. It suits German forces from the winter of 1944.
