Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Picts dominated large parts of northern Scotland from the 3rd century onwards, using terrain, cover, and surprise in their battles against neighbours and Romano-British opponents. Scots from Dál Riata emerged in western Scotland from the 5th century, combining Irish and North British influences. Ranged fighters supported spear formations and disrupted enemy movements before the main engagement. The optional crossbow refers to late antique and early medieval forms of projectile weapons in northern Britain.

Einsatz im Spiel

Diese Fernkampftruppen geben schottisch-piktischen Warbands mobile Unterstützung auf Distanz. In Hail Caesar können sie Flanken sichern, Gegner stören und leichte Truppen abschirmen. In SAGA und Pillage eignen sie sich als Plänkler oder Fernkampfelemente für Szenarien mit Bewegung und Gelände. Für Lion Rampant lassen sie sich als Bogenschützen oder Armbrustschützen einsetzen.
