Product details

Background & context

On the tabletop

Lacking good cavalry horses, the Covenanters gave their front ranks lances in the manner of the Border Reivers and tucked pistols into sashes and boot tops. The twelve riders with three command models form such a unit in Pike & Shotte. A lance charge works well against shaken infantry, but against the better-mounted English cavalry you need to be careful. With them you can field Leslie's horse at Marston Moor, the Gordon horse of Montrose or Moss Troopers.
