    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    Early medieval Saxon warbands combined local levies with better-equipped warriors and leaders. Infantry formed the core, while light cavalry and ranged fighters provided additional tactical options. Such formations are suitable for scenarios involving border wars, raids, settlement defense, and power struggles during the Dark Ages. The set's mix reflects a small, self-contained fighting force.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The Saxon Warband combines command figures, armoured and unarmoured infantry, light cavalry, and missile troops. In SAGA and Pillage, it is a very well-rounded starting choice with melee, movement, and support options. In Hail Caesar, it can be used as a small Anglo-Saxon force or as an addition to a larger army. For Lion Rampant, it can be used to build several troop types for a flexible retinue.
