    Am 14. Oktober 1066 stand Harold Godwinsons Heer auf dem Senlac Hill, Schildwall an Schildwall, gegen Wilhelm von der Normandie. Der Wall hielt fast den ganzen Tag, bis vorgetäuschte Rückzüge die Sachsen aus der Linie lockten. Mit Harolds Tod endete nicht nur die Schlacht, sondern die angelsächsische Herrschaft über England. Hastings ist der letzte große Auftritt dieser Kriegerkultur.

    On the tabletop

    These three leaders stand at the head of your Anglo-Saxons of 1066 in Hail Caesar or SAGA. Placed together on one base they form your general, while spread out they each lead a section of your shield wall. Above all they suit Hastings on 14 October 1066, when Harold Godwinson's shield wall held almost all day until the Normans drew parts of it out with feigned retreats. All three figures are metal.
