    Background & context

    Der SAS hatte sein Verfahren in der Wüste gelernt: kleine Trupps, vollgepackte Fahrzeuge, Angriffe auf Flugplätze und Nachschubwege. Nach dem Juni 1944 setzten die Verbände über Frankreich per Fallschirm ab, bekamen Jeeps im Lastensegler nachgeliefert und störten von Waldlagern aus die deutschen Verbindungen. Die Fahrzeuge waren dabei ihr halbes Kapital: fiel eines aus, lief der Trupp zu Fuß weiter.

    On the tabletop

    In Bolt Action the SAS jeep is not a transport but a fast weapons platform for your British army in North West Europe. You take it as a veteran choice in an armoured platoon, with the reconnaissance special rule, a medium and a heavy machine gun facing forward and a pintle-mounted light machine gun. It strikes at lines of communication behind the front and is gone before the enemy can react. From June 1944 such jeeps were flown in by glider to SAS teams in France.
