Product details

Background & context

The Samurai armies of the Sengoku period belong to the medieval context of feudal Japan between the late 15th and early 17th centuries. The depicted troops reflect a time when regional warfare, personal retainers, and specialized weapon types were closely intertwined. For historical tabletop armies, the set is particularly suitable for Pike & Shotte, Hail Caesar, and historical Japan scenarios. The classification is based on manufacturer specifications regarding the era, content, and type of troops depicted.

On the tabletop

The Samurai Starter Army can be used in the game as a complete Sengoku starter army with a commander, mounted cavalry, samurai, and Ashigaru foot troops. In Pike & Shotte, the set supports scenarios by providing clear roles on the table, such as holding objectives, securing flanks, or building a cohesive battle line.
