    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Rus were primarily Scandinavian-influenced groups who spread along Eastern Europe's river and trade routes in the 8th and 9th centuries. They were in contact and conflict with Slavic communities, steppe peoples, and the Byzantine Empire. Some Rus warriors became known as mercenaries in Byzantine service and are often associated with the later Varangian Guard. The set reflects this blend of Norse, Slavic, and Eastern equipment.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    The Rus set provides a flexible infantry force for early Rus and Varangian-aligned armies. In Hail Caesar, it can be used as a mixed warrior line with command sections. In SAGA and Pillage, it is suitable as a warband with Nordic and Eastern European character. For Lion Rampant, the models can be used as early medieval foot troops with leader and standard-bearer options.
