Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Royal Navy had centuries of tradition in projecting power at sea and on land. Armed landing parties from ship's crews took on a variety of tasks in World War II - from securing coastal positions to direct combat operations as infantry. The sailors, identifiable by their dark blue uniforms and their 1908 pattern webbing, differed significantly in appearance from the rest of the British Army. Their close-quarters combat training and routine aboard warships made them a well-coordinated and disciplined unit.

Einsatz im Spiel

The Royal Navy Section offers British players a thematically distinct infantry group particularly suited for coastal and harbor scenarios, as well as amphibious operations. As a rifle squad with organic light machine gun support, it covers classic infantry roles. The Molotov cocktails carried by individual figures make the squad a viable option against lightly armored vehicles at short ranges. Visually, the unit, with its navy blue uniform, provides a striking contrast within an otherwise khaki-colored British army.
