Product details

Background & context

Blockhouses built from horizontal logs were among the basic forms of fortification on the North American frontier in the 18th century. Placed at the corners of a stockade fort, they let the garrison fire along the walls and engage attackers at the foot of the palisade. Such works protected settlements, trading posts and supply routes and remained in use during the War of Independence.

On the tabletop

The corner blockhouse marks a turn in your defences where two stretches of wall meet. Defenders here watch over both adjoining sides, while attackers have to cross open ground to reach the fort. Combine several kits from the Skytrex Revolution! range to build anything from a small stockade to a large frontier fort. Sieges and raids on fortified posts then have a clear objective.
