Background & context

Am 16. Juni 1815 wurde Blücher bei Ligny von seinem Pferd geworfen und entging nur knapp der Gefangennahme. Gneisenau übernahm und ordnete den Rückzug nach Wavre an, nicht ostwärts, wie es die Nachschublinien nahegelegt hätten. Diese Entscheidung hielt die Preußen an Wellington dran. Zieten führte das I. Korps, das am Abend des 18. Juni als erster preußischer Verband bei Waterloo eintraf.

On the tabletop

Field Marshal Blücher leads the high command of your Prussian army in the 1815 campaign in Black Powder, with Gneisenau as chief of staff and Zieten as corps commander. Field Blücher as commander-in-chief while Zieten leads a corps and Gneisenau stands for the decisions taken behind the scenes. Scenarios include Ligny on 16 June, where Blücher fell from his horse and narrowly escaped capture, and Waterloo, where Zieten's corps was the first Prussian formation to arrive on the evening of 18 June.
