    Background & context

    Das wz.30 entstand in Warschau als Nachbau des amerikanischen Browning M1917. Möglich war das, weil das Patent in Polen nie eingetragen worden war. Bis 1939 rüstete die Waffe Infanterie, Kavallerie und Festungstruppen gleichermaßen aus und galt als solide, wenn auch schwer. Im Septemberfeldzug standen diese MGs an der Bzura und in Warschau und hielten ihre Stellungen oft länger, als die Gesamtlage es noch hergab.

    On the tabletop

    The wz.30, a Polish copy of the Browning M1917, gives your 1939 army a medium machine gun with a crew of three in Bolt Action. Poland's infantry, cavalry and fortresses all used the weapon, so you can field it beside riflemen or dismounted cavalry alike. On the Bzura and in Warsaw such guns often held their positions for a long time. On the table you use it to cover a flank while your squads move.
